Looking after it
Unwrap it, trim about 2 cm from each stem at an angle, and stand the bouquet in a clean vase of fresh water. Re-cut the stems and change the water every couple of days, and keep the vase out of direct sun and away from the air-conditioning. Hyacinth is strongly scented and will perfume a whole room as the florets open. Its stems are soft and sappy, so handle them gently.
