Looking after it
The basket is lined and the stems sit in soaked floral foam. Add a small amount of water every day or two to keep the foam damp, and tip out anything that collects in the liner. Somewhere bright but out of direct sun suits it best, clear of air-conditioning draughts. Lily pollen stains fabric, so pinch out the orange anthers as each flower opens. The buds along the stem will keep opening over several days.
