Looking after it
The basket is lined and the stems sit in soaked floral foam. Add a small amount of water every day or two to keep the foam damp, and tip out anything that collects in the liner. Somewhere bright but out of direct sun suits it best, clear of air-conditioning draughts. Lisianthus opens bud by bud along each stem, so it keeps producing new flowers — snip off the spent ones to let the buds behind come through.
