Looking after it
Unwrap it, trim about 2 cm from each stem at an angle, and stand the bouquet in a clean vase of fresh water. Re-cut the stems and change the water every couple of days, and keep the vase out of direct sun and away from the air-conditioning. Peonies open fast in island heat — any tight buds will unfurl over a day or two. Keep them somewhere cool if you want to slow that down.
