Looking after it
The stems sit in soaked floral foam, so no vase is needed. Pour a little water into the box every day or two to keep the foam damp — enough to moisten it, never enough to pool. Keep the box out of direct sun and away from ripening fruit, which quietly shortens the life of cut flowers. Hydrangeas drink through their petals as well as their stems — if a head starts to droop, mist it or float it in water for an hour and it will usually revive.
